Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann

Comhaltas Ceoltoiri (Irish Musicians and Singers Association) was founded in Ireland in 1951 with the following objectives:
*To promote Irish Traditional music in all
its forms
*To restore the playing of the harp and the
uileann pipes.
*To promote Irish dancing
*To foster and promote Irish language
*To create a close bond among the lovers
of Irish music
*To cooperate with all bodies working for
the restoration of Irish culture

We welcome anyone who supports those aims as a member.
Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann (CCE) now has 400 branches in existence worldwide. Apart from Ireland, branches have been set up in Britain, USA, Canada, Japan, Hungary, Sardinia, Italy and, of course Australia. Here we have branches in Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Ravenshore (QLD)and now Canberra. The Canberra branch is fortunate to have as its patron Ireland's Ambassador to Australia, His Excellency Mr. Richard O'Brien.

Membership fees are as follows:
Adult $15
Spouse $ 8
Junior (under 18) $ 5
Family $40
Adult membership includes a copy of the magazine "Treoir" four times a year.
