General Function Information
At the Canberra Irish Club, we have the experience and facilities to ensure your next special function, whatever the occasion, will be a stunning success. Below is some information about the use of our facilities.

Membership
The Irish Club has function rooms available for member's. If you are not a member you can simply complete a membership application form and then book your function. Please refer to the members information tab for fees and the application form.
Room Options
The Canberra Irish Club has a number of rooms and areas that are available for hire:
- The Cotter Room - the main function room - has a seating capacity of 40-120 for a sit down function and standing capacity of 200.
The room is ideal for:
The room costs $300 to hire.
- Birthday parties;
- Trivia nights;
- Presentation dinners;
- Band nights;
- Weddings/engagements;
- Exhibitions.
- The Weston Room - the smaller function room - has a seating capacity of 25 people (32 if tables are separated) and standing room for 40.
The room is ideal for:
- Board/committee meetings;
- Planning days;
- Private dining area;
- Small exhibition area.
The room costs $125 to hire.
- The West Deck - the large covered deck and adjacent paved area - has a standing capacity of 200.
The area is ideal for:
The hire for this area is $125.
- Birthday parties;
- Receptions;
- Team presentations.
- The Bistro Deck - This sun-filled deck is covered and has a standing capacity of 80. It can also seat 40.
The area is ideal for:
- Birthday parties;
- Receptions;
- Team presentations.
The hire for this area is $110.
Catering options
We are more than happy to provide you a wide variety of menu options to suit every occasion and budget. Most dietary requirements can be catered for. We have menus for:
- Sit down dinners;
- Buffets;
- Cocktail parties;
- Conferences;
- Weddings;
- Wakes;
- Christmas parties
These menus give an insight into what we can prepare. We can create a menu to suit your requirements. For copies of menus please email admin@irishclub.com.au
All catering is to be paid for prior to the event. Numbers for catering are required one week prior to the event.
No food is to be brought into the Club with the exception of celebration cakes. The Club will provide catering for no less than the number of guests attending
Drink options
We are happy to provide a number of options:
- Wine, etc on the table - A selection of wines, beers, etc can be purchased and made available on the tables;
- Dry Till - can be set to a predetermined level and what drinks are made available can also be determined. We will then monitor sales and advise you when the tab limit has been reached and you can choose to add more money or let guests purchase their own drinks from that point;
- Guests purchase their own drinks - No complimentary drinks but full bar facilities will be available.
Cake
You can bring in your own cake however a $2pp cakeage charge will apply and provides for our staff to cut, plate and serve the cake.
Payments
To secure a booking the room hire must be paid in full. We accept cash, credit card and direct bank transfers.
18th birthday parties
We are happy to cater for 18th birthday parties provided the function is a sit-down dinner, with all guests being accounted for catering. Catering options for these events start from $27pp, plus associated room hire charges. Minimum numbers also apply for catering options. Some other special conditions may also apply:
- A $500 bond is payable before the event;
- A list of people attending is required. This will ensure only invited guests attend the event.

Responsible Service of Alcohol
The Canberra Irish Club supports the Responsible Service of Alcohol and the Duty Manager can and will refuse service to any intoxicated person. The closing time of the bar also remains at the discretion of the Duty Manager within those same Responsible Service of Alcohol guidelines.
If a person under the age of 18 years is found to be drinking alcohol they will be asked to leave the premises as will any person found to be supplying a minor with alcohol.
