The Irish Club is proud to have hosted Irish Gaelic language classes for many years. This year's classes are on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm and Saturday mornings at 11.30am.   Or just drop in to the new informal Irish Conversation Group from 4-5pm on Saturday afternoons.

Our classes cater for both beginners and more advanced students, but you are welcome to just sit-in and listen. Experienced Irish speakers and assistants lead each class.  Modern text books, CD's and DVDs are sourced from Dublin and are available for students at discounted prices.  Classes are FREE, but you must be a member of the Irish Club and the Canberra Irish Language Association.(CILA).  Students often attend residential weekend schools in Sydney( See below) and Melbourne and, in some cases, intensive courses in Ireland.    The Embassy of Ireland is a strong supporter of all our classes.

( There is a growing interest in Irish, so new volunteer teachers / assistants are always welcome. You do not need to be a trained teacher of Irish.  Just enjoy sharing the language with very keen students! )
